This is the letter G playlist for the INTERMEDIATE level of the OXDA Truphonics Course. Phonics being taught here are G, g, gl, gr and ng sounds, and graphemes and words include girl (g), and egg (gg), ghost (gh), guard (gu), glue (gl), green (gr), king (ng) and tongue (ngue). We have carefully curated the videos here to help students learn the sounds and spellings of these
words, and the videos get harder as they go on. We have a little cartoon about Glue Boy, a video about the London guards, the Ghostbusters dance, a song about If I Were a King, a song about the different tastes our tongues can taste, and a song about shyness and confidence in Sing! Also included is Superted and the Gorilla!
Flashcard Game
I liked to use the flashcards in a musical chairs game using the Ghostbusters song. I put a flashcard on each chair, students dance around, I stop the music and call a card! That card and chair CANNOT be sat on, and that's the chair that is taken away to reduce the number of chairs! This encourages listening and identifying the word on the card (make it harder by turning over the card so the picture is not visible)!
