Letter H is one of the simplest phoneme/graphemes with very few variations. Phonics being taught here are the letter H name (we mark this with a capital letter) and h sound, and graphemes and words include H and h as in hat. Yep! That's it - just one word! As a result there are several hat songs here. But, of course, other H words come up in the videos! We have also included the popular Head Shoulders dance (kids love it when you do this super fast - speed up the video to achieve this!), some famous children's songs like Happy and You Know It! and the story song of Humpty Dumpty (students should know the word egg from the E lesson and I like to ask them, "What is he?" Even my very young ESL students can usually answer, "Egg!"), and the normal quiz and writing guides!
A nice classroom activity is to bring in some silly hats and superhero masks for students to try on!
