B1 Preliminary Practice Exam

There are:

LISTENING
- 25 questions and 25% marks for listening - 45 minutes

READING
- 32 questions and 25% marks for reading - 45 minutes

SPEAKING
-  4 parts, overall out of 20, and 25% marks for speaking - 12-17 minutes for pair of candidates
speaking rubric

WRITING
- 2 parts, 20 marks for each (40) and 25% marks for writing - 45 minutes
writing rubric
Writing marked out of 20 for each part according to above.

TOTAL 100% (sorry about the crazy maths needed for conversions! Not our design!).

Please update any improvements in the students' speaking, listening, reading and writing CEFR scores separately on the class CEFR sheet, also vocab (use the reading score to enter this) and grammar (use the writing score to enter this). Only update if the scores from the exam are better than their current grade.

For Teachers:
Here is the online listening exam. It won't give you a mark at the end, so have students write down the answers by number or prepare an answer sheet (sorry, Cambridge doesn't give us one for the online test!).
